About Us

Welcome from the Head of Lower School

Dear Parents, Carers and children,

I want to take this opportunity to briefly introduce myself to those of you that I have not yet met in person. I am originally from Cape Town, South Africa, but have been living in London for 18 years.

Within that time, I taught for 11 years at Ravenor Primary School and 5 years at Willow Tree Primary School in Ealing before joining Preston Manor in January of this year as Deputy Headteacher. I would like to thank the whole of the Preston Manor community for the very warm and sincere welcome that you have given me.

We have a new look Senior Leadership Team who I would like to introduce to you. Qudsia Siddique takes up the role of Deputy Head and Sandra Solanki, the role of Assistant Headteacher with responsibility for Special Educational Needs and Inclusion. Both Qudsia and Sandra bring many years of Primary experience to the team. Dee McLoughlin, who you all know well, maintains her role leading on Assessment and Phonics. We all look forward to working with you and your children.

I believe children should be at the centre of all teaching, where building strong relationships, team work, respect, encouragement and personal challenge are key. Every child has the ability to be successful and we should empower and support each child to achieve their full potential.  Primary education lays the foundations for life-long learning and I am passionate about developing this in our children. I expect each child to aim high and work hard towards achieving their goals.

It is vital for the school to work in partnership with parents and carers, in order for children to achieve their potential and be successful at school and in life. I strongly believe that success is achieved through respect for all, dedication, resilience, celebration of personal achievement and having fun. I hope that you will support our high expectations in all areas, especially in behaviour and achievement.

I would like to thank Mr Richard Holmes for the culture that he and his team have developed over the past two years. My team and I will continue to develop this culture, striving for success and creating experiences that will be memorable for your children.

Lastly, I would like to welcome and encourage all of our community to provide us with feedback throughout the year. The staff team and I look forward to forming strong relationships with you all. We are available after school most days so please don’t be afraid to approach us.

Yours faithfully,

Mr Kevin Atkinson
Head of Lower School
